THE Hereford-based England blind football team have booked their place in the semi-finals of the 2009 IBSA Blind Futsal European Championships.
A Dave Clarke hat-trick and a goal from Keryn Seal helped England to a comfortable 4-1 win in their opening Group B match against Germany.
Goals from captain Clarke and Seal then guided England to a 2-0 win over Italy in their second group game.
England, who train at the Royal National College for the Blind in Hereford, are seeded second at the European Championships in Nantes, France.
They were due to face France yesterday afternoon in their final group match before playing in tomorrow’s (Friday) semi-final.
Should England win their semi-final, they will progress to the final which is being played on Saturday.
