CRICKET clubs in Herefordshire are being urged to recognise the valuable contribution of their hard working volunteers.
Tea ladies, scorers and groundsmen are being nominated by clubs in the Herefordshire Cricket Board initiative.
Fiona Fortnam, volunteers manager at Herefordshire Cricket Board, said: “The role of the volunteer can be overlooked and clubs’ very survival depends on them.
“This will be an ongoing event and we would welcome prompt replies. We will inform clubs if their entry has been successful.”
Fortnam would like information about the those being nominated such as their role at the club, length of service and age.
“We need volunteers from all aspects of the cricket club,” said Fortnam.
The Herefordshire Cricket Board plan to invite the successful candidates and their partners to an event at a Herefordshire Minor Counties match at Colwall CC next month.
More information about the initiative is available from Fiona Fortnam on 01531 670613 or by e-mailing her at: fiona.fortnam@tesco.net
