Old Leamingtonians 7 pts Ledbury 23 LEDBURY overcame another stiff hurdle on their way to hopefully securing a top-two finish in Midlands 4 West South.
Ledbury dented their Warwickshire opponents' proud home record, to open up a three-point gap over their rivals.
With Old Coventrians dropping a point at Kings Norton, Ledbury join them in second spot on 23 points.
Leaders Spartans suffered a rare defeat at Dunlop but are still five points clear of their rivals.
Ledbury started like an express train, continually pushing the Old Boys back during the first quarter.
Ledbury led 8-0 at this point with Luke White kicking a penalty, and yet another Jock Welch try. He touched down after a well rehearsed lineout drive.
Andy Cooper was unlucky when he had a score not awarded due to an unsighted referee, but the reason for Ledbury's failure to score in the second quarter was down to a resolute home defence.
White kicked his second penalty five minutes after the restart, but then a converted try for the home side, albeit against the run of play, changed the picture completely. The home side were rejuvenated and it was Ledbury's turn to defend.
Ledbury withstood the test and when Leo Lockwood touched down, and White kicked the conversion, from a movement started inside their own half, the home team's spirit was broken.
White added seven more points in the closing stages when he converted his own try to seal Ledbury's triumph.
