JORDAN Liburd said that it was not the start he wanted after returning to the Hereford starting line-up against Basingstoke.

The 22-year-old who has played National League games with Solihull Moors made five starts after arriving from Rushall Olympic in January before loosing his place in recent weeks.

With centre half Dara O'Shea out on international duty and Ryan Green injured, Jordan Liburd partnered Jack Deaman at the heart of the Bulls defence for the first time since their 3-2 defeat at King's Lynn in January.

However, Liburd did score the 64th minute header that drew the Bulls level.

He said: "Obviously you want to get the win every time and I would have rather got a clean sheet than got the goal.

"It's just been one of those game today where we had plenty of chances and didn't really take them while they've had three or four at most and took all their chances.

"When they get a quick goal you've always got to get quickly back into the game, it was an uphill battle from the get-go after we conceded so early.

"It's nice to get back into the team but not the start I would have wanted but some game time is good, we need the three points.

"When they (Hereford) are keeping clean sheets and doing well you can't really expect to get back into the team and that's just one of the things about football you can't change a team that's doing well.

"Coming in today and off a loss is not the best of situations but we need to just go again. It was nice to come in today and hear that I was starting.

"I'll get a few (goals) throughout the season mainly off set pieces and stuff so it's not unusual but I'd have rather got the win.

"I try to influence the game as much as possible and obviously a goal will help the team so I try and get forward as much as possible."
