PETE BEADLE has urged fans to stick with his side after sections booed his side off following a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Basingstoke Town.

The hosts took a 2nd minute lead after a long ball found Sam Argent who beat his man before firing over Martin Horsell.

Beadle’s side levelled thanks to a Jordan Liburd header but as they pushed forwards for the winner they were caught on the break twice and lost 3-1.

“It’s hugely disappointing and it’s certainly not good enough to the standards we have set, said Beadle.

“Back to back defeats hasn’t happened for a very long time now. The players do care but it did look lack lustre I think.

“We hoofed and buffed and couldn’t get things going. I can understand people’s disappointment because the performance wasn’t good enough.

"We tried chasing the game a 1-1 with 20 minutes to go when we didn't need to and left ourselves one versus one at the back.

Hereford fans made their feeling show at the end of the game with some booing and others shouting at Beadle and his team.

"This is a big club and people need to step up to the plate, myself and the supporters included," added Beadle.

"We all need to stick together and be as one. We have had some great success over the last two years and are top at the moment.

"All is not lost and it's not over yet. I understand the fans feelings and I felt the same way. My frustration over spilt having a go back because they (the fans) think we don't care and we do care.

"We need them as our 13th man and we will bounce back on Tuesday."
