HEREFORD FC have banned a supported from Edgar Street following an incident where a smoke bomb was thrown onto a playing surface during an away match earlier this month.

The incident happened at Farnborough during this sides 4-2 victory earlier this month.

Home player Lewis Farrell was sent off after he threw a smoke bomb back into the crowd shortly after Jamie Bird put the Bulls 2-0 up.

As reported following the game, the referee would have abandoned the game if more were let off.

Hereford FC has today confirmed that a male supporter has been banned from attending matches at Edgar Street for 12 months.

A statement on the Hereford FC website said: “The individual has been contacted in writing and notified of the reasons for the decision. As investigations by the police continue, officers are also planning on speaking to a number of other supporters who are believed to have been involved in the incident.

“Hereford FC regret having to issue this banning order, however bringing pyrotechnics to any Hereford FC fixture is totally unacceptable and the club will act in a similar way for any future incidents.

“Finally, the club would like to thank supporters for their help and assistance in identifying those involved in these incidents.”

Following the incident Hereford Awaydays travel service banned three supporters for flares and drink related incidents.
