FLEETWOOD Town manager Uwe Rosler said his team restored their pride after beating a 'difficult' Hereford side and setting up a dream home tie against Leicester City.

His League One team were held in the first leg by Hereford- who sit four tiers in the football pyramid below them and over 80 places.

However, a goal in each half at Edgar Street saw the Lancashire-based side secure their place in the FA Cup third round.

"We have a lot of young players with a lot of ambitions and today was a great opportunity as a lot of people will be watching the game and a lot of people know how difficult it was to come here and get a result," said Rosler.

"I'm proud of my players they really stood up today and played more physical, we competed in the Fleetwood way and I couldn't ask for any more. Congratulations to Hereford because it is a great set-up here, we like the stadium and they have good fans.

"We needed to perform today at a high level and that's what we did. We were worthy winners. Today the crucial point was the midfield, coming to Hereford where the place was rocking and how we played was a highlight today.

"Today was about pride as an elite football club playing at the third level coming through over two legs against lower league opposition. Congratulations to Hereford they did everything to make it very difficult for us as they are a very well organised team with a good spirit and the crowd pushed them right up to the limit.

"Particularly in the second half attacking the home end was difficult times for us but in the end we were worthy winners."
