HEREFORD Lads Club player manager Danny Moon believes his team have now found their feet in West Midlands (Regional) League Premier Division after beating county rivals Wellington.

Two goals from Rory Worthing saw Moon's team come from behind to win 2-1 and with games against strugglers Wellington Amateurs and Dudley Sports coming up, Moon feels his team are in a good place.

"We probably should have about 12 points more than what we've got, but having players missing and having to go away in midweek didn't help," said Moon.

"We've taken points off the top sides but have struggled against teams nearer the bottom.

"So that is something that has got to change on Saturday."

Moon felt his team deserved to beat Wellington.

"We probably should have won the game in the first half and started well," said Moon.

"We missed a penalty and had numerous other chances.

"In all fairness, they scored with their first proper chance and we the better team in the second half."

Wellington counterpart Gary Stevens admitted that his side weren't at the races.

"We didn't perform at all and were well below par," said Stevens.

"We were always dangerous on the counter-attack but we didn't play football at all and didn't close down.

"I can't put my finger on why we played like that, but Lads Club were worthy winners and I've got no complaints."

Lads Club had a great chance to open the scoring in the 13th minute after Kiea Cowley was brought down in the box.

But Brad Williams saw his penalty hit a post.

Wellington then went in front through Paul Jones nine minutes later, but it was Lads Club who kicked on after the break.

Another penalty was awarded after Cowley was again upended, but this time Worthing took it and levelled the match.

And it was Worthing who grabbed the winner five minutes from time when his cross-cum-shot beat Dan Tecza in the Wellington goal.

Pegasus Juniors, meanwhile, needed a stoppage time goal from Alex Hunt to grab a 1-1 draw against Stone Old Alleynians, while Bromyard Town were hammered 7-2 by Division One leaders Newport Town.
