ROSS-ON-WYE continued their storming start to Gloucester 2 by thrashing previously unbeaten Broad Plain 60-0.

Craig Smith and Thai Hayward both landed two tries, with Marcus Barnard, newcomer Dale Brooke, PJ Muldowney and captain Casey Morgan also going over.

Aaron Ryder's boot landed seven conversions and two penalties, with the result seeing Ross accumulate 260 points from only four games as the Greytree outfit finally look to gain promotion.

"Everything is clicking at the moment and there's a bit more commitment in training," said Morgan.

"We've missed out on promotion by a couple of points, so that is definitely the aim this year.

"The defence is also pretty good and we've only conceded five points, which is pretty impressive."

First team manager Keith Scrivens added that the team are taking each game as it comes.

"In any league, the four teams who were up there last season deserved promotion, but we're keeping everything in-house at the moment," he said.

"We saw Broad Plain as a test but we boys were really good and were 31-0 up at half-time."

Ross are back in league action on October 21 when they go to Cheltenham Civil Service.
