GREYHOUND Ladies kicked off their National Challenge Midlands 2 South campaign in fine style by thrashing Coventry Welsh 55-0.

Emma Downes led the way with a hat-trick of tries, while Charlie Broad and Laura Jenkins scored two apiece.

Stacey Probert and Grace de Garcia were also on the scoresheet, with Jenkins and Sam Lumb adding the conversions.

The men, meanwhile, crashed out of the Midlands Junior Vase at the first hurdle following an 84-19 hammering at Pershore.

Elliot Phillips scored two of Greyhound's tries, as welling as kicking over a brace of conversions, while Jake Cheshire also touched down.

Shrewsbury had an away walk-over win over Bromyard in the Midlands Senior Vase, while Ross-on-Wye thrashed Bream 71-5 to continue their fine start to their Gloucester 2 campaign.
