HEREFORD FC have appointed their new general manager.

James Watts comes on board having spent five years at Newport County as commercial manager.

He is also known as being a leading hardcore drum and bass MC, going under the name of MC Wotsee.

"I have turned down a number of opportunities over the past few months because of my loyalty to Newport, but I now believe it is the right time for me to progress in my career at another club," said Watts.

"I can't wait to get started at Hereford now and I hope there are many good times to come in the next few seasons at Edgar Street."

More than 20 people applied for the job, with applicants shortlisted for interview.

Two candidates were then invited back for a second interview, with Watts chosen.

"The calibre of the applicants for this position was very impressive and even putting together a shortlist was extremely difficult," said Hereford chairman Ken Kinnersley.

"We are, however, delighted to have appointed James as the club’s general manager and are all looking forward to working with him.

"He knows the job will be a challenge and that we have high expectations of him, but we are all confident he is the right person for the job."

Watts will start his new job on Monday, September 25.
