TRACEY Powell was once again the star of the show at the Bowls Herefordshire Ladies County Finals.

The Ledbury star won both the Four Wood Singles and Two Wood Singles titles, as well as retaining the Pairs Trophy with her sister Linda Smith.

Powell has been runner-up in the both singles competitions last year, but ensured a 21-11 win over her team mate Amy Richards in the morning, swiftly followed by a 17-4 success over Eastnor's Vicki Buck in the Two Wood Singles.

She then continued her form into the afternoon when the Pairs title was snapped up thanks to a convincing 23-12 win against Sandra Pritchard and Fran Hergest of St Martins.

Powell and Smith will now be going all out for a third win in the National Pairs competition.

Richards, meanwhile, had a tight match against Ross player Kate Williams in the Junior Singles.

Having trailed for 16 ends, Richards secured a four on the 17th and went on to take the title, prevailing 21-16.

She will now represent Herefordshire for the first time in the National Championships having transferred from Worcestershire.

The Brimfield & Little Hereford triples team of Helen Skinner, Eileen Powell and skip Jennie Cole won the Triples title, beating the Ross team of Sue Dix, Marcia Gwynne and skip Jenny Murray 22-9.

However, Ross did manage to beat Brimfield in the Rinks though, with Dix, Joan Baker and Gwynne beating Karen Tandler, Marian Wheatley, Barbara Griffiths and Cole 24-15.

All of the ladies will now represent Herefordshire at the Bowls England National Championships at Royal Leamington Spa this month.

Following a successful season, Cole, Gwynne and Jenny Murray will also represent the county in the Senior Singles and the Senior Pairs respectively, while Tandler, Wheatley, Griffiths and Cole will compete in the Senior Rinks competition following their earlier 30-6 win against the St Martins team of Margaret Booth, Irene Healy, Sandra Pritchard and Fran Hargest.

The Brimfield ladies also retained the County Top Club title for a fourth successive year with a 4-0 victory over Kingsland.
