LEDBURY kept in the race for Marches Division Two promotion by winning their final game at Clenchers Mill Lane thanks partly to Jamie Turner taking six wickets against Eastnor 3rds.

Turner, who has taken 16 wickets in six matches this term helped Ledbury to victory by nine wickets after successfully chasing a target of 173-9.

Eastnor elected to bat and opener Ian Milton got them off to a good start high-scoring with 79, but his fellow batsman fell around him.

In reply the hosts were never in trouble after opener Joshua Evans hit 13-fours and on his way to 83 runs and was joined by Tom Willis (77).

Ledbury reached the total after 24.5 overs.

After spending over a century at their current ground Ledbury will move to their new home off Ross Road for their next league match.

Cleobury Mortimer opened the gap at the top of Division Two after a convincing victory against second place Canon Frome.

Peter Gale hit a top score of 34 as the visitors were bowled all-out for 73, which was easily hit by Cleobury Mortimer hitting their target after just 16.4 over for the loss of one wicket.

That allowed Ross-on-Wye to narrow the gap to the second promotion place with an eight wickets victory over Presteigne.

Andrew Tingle took five wickets as Presteigne were bowled out for 77 from 33.2 overs.

In reply opener Stuart Mair hit 31 as his side reached 80-2 off 25 overs.

Kington took pole position in Division One after bowling out title rivals Goodrich and taking their unbeaten record.

The hosts hit a target of 222 all-out which Goodrich never came close to chasing eventually being bowled out for 160.

At the other end of the table captain Russell Palmer smashed 91 for Dales as they took their first victory of the season against Builth Wells.

Jack Rowsell (34) and Chris Breeze (21) set the tone for Dales before Palmer came to the crease hitting 14 fours and three sixes leading his side to 235 all out.

In reply Breeze took 4-38 as Builth struggled and were eventually bowled out for 153.

Garnons remain on the tails of the leaders after bowling Abergavenny-Crickhowell out for 91, thanks to a five-wicket haul from Paul Williams.

Richard Scarcliff led the run chase with an unbeaten 24 and Rob Pritchard (25) as they reached 94-4.

Strollers remain top of Division Three after beating Builth Wells 2nds by eight wickets.

Daniel Powell (45) and Paul Sheridan (41) helped their side to 131-2 from 27 overs for victory.
