KINGTON Town joint-manager James Edmonds is delighted to have secured the services of striker Matt McDonald.

The former Hereford striker has joined on a dual registration deal from Sutton Coldfield Town and is available to play at Bromyard Town this Saturday.

"It's a great signing for us and gives us more quality," said Edmonds, who worked with McDonald at Pegasus Juniors.

Kington are bottom of West Midlands (Regional) League Division One, but Edmonds believes his side are progressing.

"The bigger picture for us is next season," he said.

"It's always difficult when someone comes in but we are progressing.

"It has taken us a little bit of time to get our ideas across and what we want to do.

"Rory Huntbach is doing really well for us though and going into men's football has helped him massively.

"He is a lot stronger now which will only help him and Hereford."

Huntbach scored last Saturday in a 2-2 draw against Darlaston Town, with Ryan Nicholas also on target.

Bromyard, meanwhile, lost 3-0 to Tipton Town.

At the other end of the table, Hereford Lads Club could seal promotion this weekend.

Danny Moon's side – who dropped points for only the second time this season in a 1-1 draw at Wrens Nest last Saturday – will go up if they beat Darlaston at home.
