FORMER New Zealand international Scott Hamilton helped Hinckley inflict a 29-13 defeat on Luctonians in National League 2 North.

Hamilton scored an early try to set the tone for the Leicestershire side in the second minute.

Winger Johnny Morris then opened Luctonians' account with a penalty15 minutes before adding another on the half-hour mark.

But that was as good as it got for Luctonians in the first half and the home side were back in front by half-time.

Back-rower Andrew Salt forced his way over from close distance, with Joseph Wilson adding the extras.

Hinckley added to their scoreline two minutes into the second half when prop Ewan Bartlett was on hand to score a try.

Joe White grabbed a consolation try on the hour mark before second-row forward Benjamin Marshall drove his way forward from a maul to secure the bonus point.

The with 10 minutes remaining, Wilson added a penalty.

The defeat means Luctonians drop back down to 12th place in the division.

Lucs were handed an extra point from their game against Sedgley Park last month.

The match on February 4 ended in uncontested tries, but it became apparent that Sedgley Park failed to replace a prop at the first time of asking, as required by the regulations.

Sedgley Park accepted this, resulting in the National Clubs Association (NCA) awarding Lucs a four-try win.

This Saturday, Lucs are home to Tynedale.
