HAY St Mary's Reserves remain on course for the Watson Financial Mid Wales (South) League title following a narrow 3-2 home success over Llanidloes Town Reserves.
The Saints are now just four points behind leaders Brecon Northcote with three games in hand after goals from Josh Wisniewski (2) and Rob McNamara secured Saturday’s win.
Hay also played Llanidloes Town in the Spar Mid Wales League First Division in what was a double header at Forest Road.
But their hopes of making it three wins in a row were dashed as a depleted side went down 3-0 with Ed Clarke (2) and Josh Matthews netting for the impressive visitors.
Radnor Valley have bowed out of the League Cup after sustaining a 3-2 home defeat to Llanrhaeadr; Iwan Matthews bagging a hat-trick.
In Division Two, Newbridge drew 2-2 draw with Dyffryn Banw; Lyndon Jones and Aled Jones scoring for Newbridge.
