PEGASUS Juniors striker Cory Hyde is to have a MRI scan today to ascertain how severe his knee injury is.

Hyde was stretchered off 15 minutes from time during Saturday's 2-2 draw at Wellington.

The prolific marksman had earlier scored his 35th goal of the season as Pegasus opened up a 2-0 lead by half-time.

Pegasus player-manager Anthony Robbins said Hyde had an x-ray on Saturday night and his bones were deemed to ok.

A bolt that was placed in his knee following a previous injury is also still in place, added Robbins.

However, Pegasus chief executive Kevin Bishop last night said that the early prognosis is not good and knee ligament damage is feared.

Speaking after Saturday's game, Robbins believed Hyde got his foot stuck, which caused his knee to give way.

"The ball then went out play and he was laid down," said Robbins.

"He said his foot got caught in the ground and his body went one way and his knee the other.

It is the third serious knee injury Hyde has sustained.
