THE future of a sports bursary organisation has been secured after Herefordshire Community Foundation which has agreed to operate the scheme in future.
Ready, Steady, Win (RSW) had been running since 1993 when Jim Hughes persuaded local companies and organisations to contribute towards funding.
But all of it has now been allocated to youngsters, hence the need for the rescue.
"We were faced with closing the scheme down completely, if we couldn’t find a rescuer," said RSW Chairman, Martin Hudson.
"We are delighted to have reached agreement with the Herefordshire Community Foundation to take the concept forward and support local sporting youth."
Twenty aspiring young sports starts recently received their bursaries at a presentation evening held at the Three Counties Hotel in Hereford.
