JOEY Price was yet again Radnor Valley’s shooting star as the New Radnor side saw off Llandrindod Wells 2-1 to advance to the fourth round of the Central Wales Challenge Cup.

Price, who is set to be named assistant manager, scored both goals including a stunning free-kick after Llandrindod had led at half-time through Elliot Williams.

Knighton Town did not enter the competition but Hay St Mary's are out following a 5-4 defeat at Machynlleth.

Jack Biggs and Matt Croose each scored twice for the Saints, who will be disappointed having previously completed a league double over Machynlleth.

In the Watson Financial Mid Wales League (South), Presteigne saw their title hopes dented following a 2-0 home defeat at the hands of Rhayader Town Reserves on Friday night.

Knighton Town Reserves beat leaders Talgarth Town 5-3 at home and are now in with a shout in an exciting title race.

Ieuan Webb netted twice, with Mark Jones, Connor Bird and Liam Davies also on target.

Alex Simmons (2) and Kyle O’Shea scored for Talgarth.

Hay St Mary's Reserves thrashed Builth Wells 5-0 thanks to two goals from Matt Tony and once each for Rob McNamara, Matt Turrell and Tom Weaver.
