WELLINGTON are now up to sixth place in West Midlands (Regional) League Premier Division following a 3-1 home win over Stone Old Alleynians.

Derek Williams' side have bounced back well following a 4-1 defeat at Wolverhampton Casuals at the start of the month and they are now only two points off fourth place.

Wellington could have scored after five minutes but Josh Hunt missed.

However, the striker made amends shortly afterwards by firing his side ahead.

Paul Jones made it 2-0 from the penalty spot before the same player added another before half-time.

Wellington took their foot off the pedal after the break, which saw Stone Old Alleynians scoring in the 52nd minute.

Matt Williams and Hunt then had chances to increase Wellington's lead, but they were spurned.

Pegasus Juniors, meanwhile, fell to a disappointing 1-0 home defeat to Bilston Town Community.

In Division One, Bromyard Town came from 3-1 down to beat FC Stafford 5-4 in a thrilling game.

Liam Hodges led the way for Graham Glenister's men with a hat-trick, with Sam Cupper helping himself to a brace.

Lads Club did not have a game due to Team Dudley being unable to field a side.
