KNIGHTON Town extended their unbeaten run to six matches by holding Spar Mid Wales League Division One leaders Rhayader Town a 1-1 draw.

Tom Bethell had given Rhayader the lead but Knighton, who saw a strong penalty appeal turned down, grabbed a late equaliser through a fit again Connor Bird.

Joey Price scored for Radnor Valley in their 2-1 defeat at Llanidloes Town while Llandrindod wells continued their climb with a big 7-1 win at Montgomery Town.

Elliot Williams netted four with Robbie Nicholls (2) and Shaun Nicholls also on target.

In Division Two, Presteigne went down 3-0 at home against leaders Borth United, while in the Central Wales Challenge Cup, Newbridge beat Cilgerran 2-0 thanks to two Aeron Powell goals.

Talgarth Town saw their lead cut at the top of the Watson Financial Mid Wales league (South) and needed a late leveller from Harry Sharman in a 1-1 draw at Newcastle who had led through Ed Marston.

Presteigne Reserves maintained their challenge with Spencer Napolitano, Gareth Bull, Tom Crichton and Owen Williams contributing to a 4-2 success at St Harmon.

Knighton Town Reserves were also 4-2 winners at Penybont Reserves with Harry Worton, Liam Jones, Liam Blythe and Jack Brindley netting.
