PARALYMPIC swimmer Sascha Kindred has been reinstated into tonight's SM6 200m individual medley final.

It is understood the 38-year-old was disqualifed due to a "technical infringement." in his heat.

But, following an appeal from British Swimming, Kindred has been reinstated.

Tonight's final, which will be live on Channel 4 at just after 11.30pm, will Kindred's last ever race at the Paralympics.

He has won an indredible 12 Paralympic medals during a glittering career having made his debut at Atlanta in 1996 - six golds, three silvers and three bronze.

But despite breaking his own world record and setting a new best time in Europe at London 2012, Kindred had to settle for second place in the 200m individual medley.

In his other two events at Rio, Kindred finished sixth in the 50m butterfly but did not make the final in the 200m freestyle.
