EASTNOR look certain to be relegated from Division Three of the Birmingham & District Premier League with only three matches remaining.

The villagers are 32 points adrift from safety and need a miracle to prevent themselves from slipping into the Worcestershire County League.

Eastnor lost their back-to-back games over the Bank Holiday weekend, and even if they beat bottom club Whitchurch this Saturday, they face the daunting task of going to leaders Fordhouses next weekend.

On Monday, Eastnor slipped to a four-wicket defeat against Pershore after making 176-9 off 50 overs.

Atiq Ur Rehman once against showed what he could do with the bat by making 71, with Shahid Ahmed unbeaten on 32.

But Pershore were always within reach of their required target and got there with 3.3 overs left.

Suleyman Shah (3-33) was the pick of the Eastnor bowlers.

Eastnor went into the game on the back of an eight-wicket defeat against Handsworth.

Mahaaz Ahmed top scored for Eastnor with 73 in a team total of 192-9, but Handsworth were handed a reduced target due to the inclement weather, which they had no problem reaching.

The weather also affected the Worcestershire League.

The only matches that finished included Burghill, Tillington & Weobley losing by two wickets to Hagley, Wormelow claiming a winning draw against Chaddesley Corbett and Ross-on-Wye securing an excellent seven-wicket win over Avoncroft.
