IT looks like being a battle between Luctonians and Garnons at the top of GB Liners Marches League Division One, with both winning at the weekend.

Luctonians prevailed against Builth Wells, while Garnons had no problem seeing off Crickhowell.

Builth Wells were bowled out for 198, with Ed Rolling (3-27) being the pic of the Luctonians bowlers.

Lucs were 94-5 when the rain stopped play, with a reduced target of 173 off 39 overs set.

But they eased home with more than two overs to spare; Ian Probert top scoring with 39.

Rob Prithcard took 5-35 to help Garnons thrash Crickhowell by 10 wickets and stay within touch of Luctonians.

James Bolton also snapped up two wickets as Crickhowell were bowled out for 119.

Openers Alan Jones and James Debenjam then saw Garnons home, finishing unbeaten on 61 and 36 respectively.

Michael Green was the star man for Kington in a four-wicket success against Canon Frome & Marden.

Green took 4-18 and scored 43 runs with the bat.

Elsewhere, Glangrwyney narrowly beat Ledbury by five runs, while Goodrich's match against Woolhope was abandoned.

In Division Two, Chris Breeze finished unbeaten on 98 as Dales thrashed Canon Frome & Marden Seconds by 158 runs while, despite only 173 runs being scored by both sides, Knighton-on-Teme still eased to a 36-run win over Colwall Thirds.

In the division's other two matches, Almeley beat Presteigne by seven wickets, while Builth Wells Seconds claimed the same winning margin against Luctonians Seconds.
