BROCKHAMPTON claimed a winning draw against Wellington to continue their fine recent form in Division One of the Birmingham & District Premier League.

The match was reduced to 40 overs a side, with Brockhampton being put into bat.

The villagers posted 144-6, with fine knocks by middle order batsmen Joe Crichard (54) and Senuran Muthusamy (48).

Muthusamy then snapped up two of of the opening three wickets when Wellington were put into bat, while Callum Stewart helped himself to three.

Wellington came agonisingly close to reaching their target, but could only muster 142-7.

Tareq Jamil hit a fine 121 off 11 balls for Eastnor against Whitchurch in Division Three, but it was the Shropshire side who secured a winning draw.

Whitchurch posted 275-5 off 55 overs; Atiq Ur Rehman helping himself to two wickets.

But Jamil's heroics were not enough as Eastnor fell 13 runs short of their target.

Arshad Hussain also posted a half-century for Eastnor, who finished on 263-9.
