WILL Gore won the Captain's Cup held by Leominster Golf Club.

Gore claimed the prize with a commendable 44 points in a rescheduled friendly match organised by captain Cyril Jennings.

Meanwhile, 34 teams of four players enjoyed a stabled competition involving men, ladies and mixed teams.

Leominster took first place in the ladies' and men's section, while a side made of various local clubs took the mixed section.

More than £5,000 was raised for St Michael's Hospice, with thanks expressed by Paddy Nugent, the charity's fundraising manager, Jennings and Leominster Golf Club president Paul Chapman.
