LACHLAN Hartley continued his fine start to the Worcestershire County Cricket League season by helping Wormelow beat county rivals Bromyard by six wickets.

The Aussie star hit 71 off 60 balls as Wormelow easily went past Bromyard's total in the Division Two match.

Tom Cutler was Bromyard's nemesis by snapping up five wickets for just 24 runs.

Elliott Williams also helped himself to three wickets as Wormelow skittled Bromyard out for just 127.

Josh van Rensburg top-scored fort Bromyard with 39, while opener Edd Oliver scored 30.

A poor batting display cost Colwall as they slipped to second place in Division One following a losing draw against Droitwich Spa.

In a low-scoring clash, blighted by a prolonged downpour, Colwall’s top order were punished for some loose shots as they were bowled out for a paltry 125 after being asked to bat. In reply, Droitwich were clinging on at 110-9, but were ahead on run rate and duly claimed 12 points, while Colwall had to settle for six.

Wehan Joubert top-scored for Colwall with 32, while Mike King took three wickets.

Elsewhere in Division One, Burghill, Tillington & Weobley claimed their first victory of the season thanks to a five-wicket success over Bewdley by five wickets.

It's an all-Herefordshire affair at the top of the Division Three table, with Bartestree & Lugwardine and Ross-on-Wye occupying the top two places.

Ben Chaplin hit a club record 211 out not as Bartestree claimed a winning draw against Barnards Green, while Ross hammered Malvern by 129 runs.

Chaplin's knock beat the previous record held by Matt Aubrey, while captain Ben Simpkin also struck 81 runs.

Ross' win was helped in no small part by James Tiffen scoring 120 and snapping up six wickets.
