HEREFORD Lads Club player-manager Danny Moon believes his team are ready to make the step up to West midlands (Regional) League Premier Division.

The city side face Penncroft tonight needing a win to secure promotion.

Currently, there is no stand or floodlights in place at the County Ground, but Moon says the submitted plans have been accepted and the club, in liaison with the Herefordshire Football Association, are now waiting for funds from Sport England to proceed.

"We have done all the legal side and have to get it all done by November or December," said Moon.

"When I joined five years ago, we had a five-year plan of getting us up to where we need to be.

"We will be able to attract more players and it will open up doors and a lot of avenues."

Moon has been pleased with how his team have fared this season.

"We have done well, considering we've lost a few players as the season has gone on and picked up some injuries," he said.

"We still get 14 players week-in-week-out, but it is a struggle sometimes.

"Shifnal have spent a bit of money and brought in players at the right time, whereas Ludlow have fallen by the wayside.

"We haven't lose to any of the top five sides, we have dropped points against teams at the bottom."

Last Saturday, Dean Corbett scored the winner for Lads Club that completed a 3-2 win at Team Dudley.

Lads Club's final game at home to Shenstone Pathfinders will now take place this Monday, instead of Saturday.

Meanwhile, Kington Town thrashed Shenstone 5-1 last Saturday – making it six win in seven games for Shaun Harris' side.

Mark Langford opened the scoring on 18 minutes before Tom Rowlands doubled the advantage.

Kington then scored three quick goals after the break through Jay Maygothling, Tom Parry and Callum Davies.

Max Chauvel netted a consolation goal for Shenstone.
