HEREFORD Lads Club are now firm favourites to be promoted from West Midlands (Regional) League Premier Division following an excellent 4-2 win at Kington Town on Tuesday night.

Danny Moon's side are three points clear of AFC Ludlow in second place having now played the same amount of games as their Shropshire rivals.

Both teams have five games left, with the majority of those being away.

And with Lads Club now being within six points of leaders Shifnal Town – and with a game in hand – the Hereford side could even win the title.

Again, Lads Club had to come from behind to win the match.

Kington took the lead through a Tom Parry header before Lads Club equalised through a Moon half-volley.

Darren Andrews then put Lads Club ahead via a Dan Herbert flick-on, but back came Kington, who made it 2-2 through Ricky Dyer.

But it was Lads Club who went into the half-time break ahead thanks to a Matt Maturi header.

Moon then wrapped up then win in the second half thanks to a 35-yard screamer.

Lads Club went into the game after beating Trysull 5-2.

Trysull opened the scoring with a penalty before Maturi levelled the match.

Moon then converted two penalties to put Lads Club in control before Trysull pulled a goal back.

But Lads Club sealed the win thanks to two goals from Arron Turner.

Kington beat Worcester Raiders 2-1 last Saturday thanks to goals from Mark Langford and Miles Langford.

Pegasus Juniors were due to host Bromyard Town in another Herefordshire derby on Tuesday night, but the match was called off after Bromyard were unable to raise the side.

According to Pegasus, some of Town's players were stuck on the motorway travelling to the game for the Premier Division match.

Last Saturday, Pegasus beat bottom club Tipton Town 3-0 thanks to two goals from Sam Pearson.

Bromyard's match against Dudley Sports was called off, as was Wellington's away encounter at Wolverhampton Casuals.
