BOTH Hereford's first and second teams lost in their respective West Clubs' Women's Hockey League matches at the weekend.

The first team went down 2-1 to Newent in Premier Division 2A, while the seconds lost 2-0 at home to Severn Division 1 leaders East Glos.

Also in Severn Division 1, Colwall & Malvern lost 3-1 at home to Newent 2nd, which sees them drop a place to eighth.

There was better news for Leominster though, who overcame bottom side Wotton-under-Edge to record their first away win in North Division.

Leominster, who are fifth, travel to fourth-placed side Lansdown this Saturday.

Ross-on-Wye lost 1-0 to Bretforton 2nds in Severn Division 2 that leaves them third from bottom, while Colwall & Malvern 2nds went down 3-0 to Cirencester 3rds in Severn Division 3. Colwall & Malvern 2nds have lost all of their seven games and are on minus three points due to failing to fulfil a fixture.

Presteigne thrashed Barry 6-1 in Premier 2 of the South Wales Hockey League.

Sioned Price beat several players before opening the scoring for Presteigne before she set up Rita Tompkins to make it 2-0.

Price added another goal before half time and a cracking finish from Jess Goodwin after the break saw the away side go 4-0 up.

The last two Presteigne goals were scored by Charlotte Jones and Ellie Williams.

Presteigne face Swansea University at home this Saturday before entertaining Wrexham in the Welsh Shield the following day.

Tenbury, who play at Bridge Street in Leominster, also beat Harborne 3rds 3-1 in Division One of the Worcestershire League.

Lindsey Aldridge-Bufton, Naomi Burgoyne and Abi Davis scored Tenbury's goals.

Tenbury are always looking for new players and train at Bridge Street every Thursday from 7.30pm to 8.30pm.

Junior training takes place at Tenbury High School between 3.45pm and 6pm on Tuesdays.
