WELLINGTON manager Derek Williams says his team will be going out to win against higher-graded Sporting Khalsa in the second qualifying round of the FA Vase on Saturday.

Khalsa ran away with the West Midlands (Regional) League Premier Division title last season and have only lost two games in the Midland Football League Premier Division this campaign.

But Welly are in a bit of form themselves having won their last two games and Williams says his team should not fear their higher-graded opponents.

"We will definitely be going there to win it but we know it will be tough," said Williams.

"They have got some good lads there but you never know what can happen on the day."

Williams added that Will Perkins is due to return to the side after being unavailable for the past month, but Adam Newbury will not feature.

"Aaron Morgan has started for us again and has been excellent at the back," said Williams.

"Zac Sirrell has also been a great addition after joining from Westfields."

A last-gasp penalty from Paul Jones saw Wellington beat Bewdley Town on Saturday, which comes on the back of an excellent 5-1 success at county rivals Bromyard Town.

A controversial goal saw Bewdley open the scoring after 30 minutes.

A Bewdley striker seemed to run the ball out of play after rounding Cris Mancui in the Wellington goal, but the kicked the ball back onto the pitch.

The ball then ricocheted back to him and he scored at the near post, to the amazement of the Wellington players.

But Welly re-grouped after the break and equalised within two minutes of the restart through Newbury before Jones netted the winner from 12 yards after Josh Hunt was brought down. Bromyard, meanwhile, had their game against Wolverhampton Sporting Community postponed.

The Delahay Meadow side, who are due to face Tipton Town tonight, go to Hinckley in the FA Vase this Saturday.

Pegasus Juniors are in league action and will fancy taking maximum points against Smethwick Rangers.

James Edmonds' side have leapfrogged to seventh after three consecutive wins.

Last Saturday, goals from Ashley Lear and Tom Gameson saw them beat Ellesmere Rangers.

Tom Harding was both hero and villain for Lads Club as he scored two goals before later being sent off against Wyrley in Division One.

The striker netted his goals in the first half to take the Hereford side into a commanding half-time lead.

Wyrley reduced the arrears after the break when Hayden Hughes slotted past Lads Club goalkeeper Steven Bell before Harding received his marching orders after catching a Wyrley defender in the face following a challenge.

Harding was then pushed to the floor by Wyley's Danny Dolman, but only Harding was sent off.

Bartestree, meanwhile, lost 2-1 to Darlaston Town (1874) and remain bottom of the division.
