LADS Club seek their first point - and first goal - of the West Midlands (Regional)?League Division One campaign when they host newly promoted Kington Town this weekend.

Danny Moon’s side suffered a second successive last-ditch 1-0 defeat when they were beaten by another late goal at FC?Stafford last Saturday.

Lads Club dominated for long spells, with Dean Drezewski hitting the bar early on and a host of other chances going to waste before Tom Duffy snatched Stafford’s last-minute winner.

In contrast, Kington have four points and four goals from two starts following a 1-1 draw at Darlaston Town.

Liam Jones, recruited following Rhosgoch folding, gave them the lead, beating 47-year-old debutant goalkeeper Scott Bamford with a deceptive 25-yard free-kick and they could have been three up at the break.

Darlaston hit back in the second period to level through Sam Giles and goalkeeper Zeke Vivian then denied the home side a second, though Marco Parry could have won it for Kington at the death.

Bartestree suffered a second successive defeat in losing 2-1 at home to Shenstone Pathfinder, despite debutant Shaun Prince (from Presteigne) giving them the lead inside five minutes. They switched off in the second half and Shenstone turned the tables with two goals.

Boss Chris Hayes, who has Adriano Girolami?as his new assistant, admitted: “We had the chances to have made it safe and it was a massive learning curve.

"But we are delighted Adriano has decided to join the management team and it can only be of benefit to the club.”
