TWO golfers have recently achieved prized holes-in-one – and both at Burghill Valley Golf Club.

For one, Ian Cox, there will be no excuse for missing his next tee-time after his feat also won him a limited-edition BOSS watch.

Cox, 66, scored his ace on the 173-yard, par-three 14th hole, and the 12-handicapper was rewarded with membership of the exclusive BOSS Watches H1Club and a specially-commissioned, commemorative timepiece.

The luxury German brand has again pledged to reward club golfers with an exclusive watch for every hole-in-one recorded during a club competition in 2015, after giving away more than £1m-worth of limited-edition timepieces since its launch in 2013.

The scheme is open to any golfer whose club uses HowDidiDo – a free-to-use, web-based social network for golfers – and anybody playing in official club competitions is eligible. Currently, more than 1,800 clubs use the website.

Matching Cox’s achievement was Lyn Woodhouse, who was competing in Burghill Valley’s Annual Open Championship.

He holed-in-one at the 127-yard, par-three third.

Over 111 competitors took to the greens on a sunny but very windy day and the winner of the net competition was Ady Marshall, with Gregg Morgan taking the gross prize to go with the club championship he won last year.
