GOODRICH still lead the way in Marches League Division One after they annihilated Builth Wells by 213 runs.

Rory Jackson led the way with the bat by making 126 before he was run out as Goodrich made 234-6 off their 45 overs.

The villagers then blitzed their way through the Builth Wells attack as they bowled them out in just 14.5 overs.

None of the Builth Wells line-up got into double figures, with Sam Williams top scoring with six.

Winston Williams, Eric De Greeve and Anthony Mead all went for a duck.

But Luctonians are breathing down Goodrich’s neck as James Platford’s 142 helped them to a comfortable 85-run win against Brockhampton 3rd.

Duncan Platford (75) also posting useful runs, with further scores coming from Chris Ibbetson (33) and Hamish Light (25).

In third place in the division, and seven points further adrift, are Garnons, who thrashed Crickhowell by 134 runs; James Debenham top scoring with 39.

Elsewhere, Kington beat Woolhope by 32 runs and Canon Frome overcome Ledbury.

Glangrwyney are top in Division Two, with their latest success being a 10-wicket win against Llandrindod Wells.

Dales are just four points adrift following a nine-wicket drubbing against Almeley; Jonathan Jones finishing unbeaten on 54.

Marden slip to third after Shirebulls secured a winning draw in their match.

Ashley Smith and Matthew Hancock scored 47 and 45 respectively for the Hereford side, with Hancock and Chris Breeze snapping up two wickets apiece.

In the division’s other match, Knighton on Teme beat Presteigne by five wickets. Colwall 3rd look very strong in Division Three and have already opened up a 16-point lead at the top of the table after just three matches.

Last Saturday, Fergus Cameron’s 46 helped them to a winning draw against Abergavenny 3rd.

Elsewhere, Kington 2nd beat Garnons 2nd by six wickets and Luctonians 2nd strolled past Strollers by three wickets.

It was not much better for Strollers’ second-string side, who were hammered by Colwall 4th by 172 runs in Division 4 East.

Strollers 2nd only scored 17, with six players going for a duck.

Bartestree & Lugwardine fielded a fourth-string side for the first time, but they were thrashed by Woolhope 2nd. There was also a win for Eastnor 4th against Herefordians.

Darren Woodhouse was the pick of Eastnor's bowlers, as his six wickets ensured Herefordians could only score 68.

In the western section of division, Burghill & Tillington 3rd beat Luctonians 3rd, Hay-on-Wye overcame Glangrwyney 2nd and Moccas powered past Wormelow 3rd. That was despite Michael Merrick finishing on 3-7 for Wormelow.
