THE Bishop of Hereford's Bluecoat School once again showed their rugby credentials by winning all three Hereford Schools Domestic Sevens tournaments at Wyeside.

Both the under-14s and under-15s beat John Kyrle High School in their respective finals, while the under-16s got the better of Wigmore 47-7.

Meanwhile, Hereford Cathedral School (HCS) narrowly lost in the semi-finals of a Sevens event at King's School, Worcester.

An early score by Tom Ward against Ellesmere, who won the competition last year, put HCS ahead, but their opponents got back into the game and led 17-14 at the break.

Ellesemere scored again, but some determination by HCS put Jack Helme over the line.

But Ellesmere scored again after their winger sprinted the length of the field to win the game 27-19.

The tournament started with a tough opening game against Sir Thomas Rich's, which HCS prevailed 19-12.

Further group wins followed against King Edward VI School, Stratford and Solihull before the school beat Warwick B 39-21.

Two tries from Will Butler and one from Helme then saw them past St Peter's High School from Gloucester in the quarter-final.

But Butler, who has appeared for Worcester Cavaliers this season, sustained a knee injury and missed the semi-final.

HCS also had a 'B' squad at the tournament, but lost 14-5 to Bishops Vesey's from Sutton Coldfield.
