RADNOR and West Pony Club brought home the rosettes from the Area 10 Pony Club Triathlon Championship.

In her first event in the juniors, new member Lucy Austin won the best run and just missed out on the placings, while Becky Wreyford scooped the series Championship in Minimus.

Becky, with sister Steph and pony club members Lauren Waygood and Charlotte Smith also achieved team first for Radnors, with Vida Thorpe and Lilly Connop bringing home a team fifth.

All athletes beat their personal bests in shoot, swim and run, with particularly impressive pistol scores for Charlotte, Steph, Lauren and Sophie.

Club members Becky Wreyford and Charlotte Smith also competed in the National Pony Club Triathlon in Milton Keynes last Sunday.

The triathlon is pistol, shoot, swim and run and they took part in the under-13 class known as Minimus with competitors from Ireland, Wales, Scotland and England.

Charlotte equalled her personal best in shoot and delivered excellent scores for her swim and run, gaining a place in the top 30.

Becky managed a 920 shoot, 1,080 swim and a personal best score of 1,120 in the run to achieve a credible seventh place in the Winter Triathlon Championships.
