HEREFORD businessman Luke Conod said the international boxing shows put the city on the map.

Conod is a member of the city of Hereford Rotary Club and Hereford Round Table, who helped support the event.

"It's great for us to be involved and it is such a professional event," said Conod.

"We had boxers from all over England and Wales who are serious fighters.

"It was a sell-out show with standing room only at the back.

"It's one of only three internationals held in the UK and it's held in Hereford.

"Anything that can help brand Hereford has got to be good."

The grand prix spectacular was once again held at Hereford Sixth Form College.

"We were delighted yo welcome back international boxing to the college," said principal Jonathan Godfrey.

"We greatly value our links with local clubs and would like to pay tribute to the work of Vince McNally and his colleagues for providing such fantastic opportunities for young people in the county."
