ANDY Rogers says he is loving life at Hereford after returning to the city side.

Rogers, who scored two goals against Cardiff & Metropolitan 4th last Saturday, is coaching the side as well as playing.

"I am enjoying being back coaching Hereford and it has definitely stepped up," said Rogers, who has returned to the side after starring for Gloucester City.

"The level the boys are performing at, especially the young lads, is really good.

"And with Danny putting the ball in the back of the net is definitely very good.

"With five games left, we've got to win three and look forward to going up and challenging next year.

"The team spirit is absolutely fantastic and the captain has done really well in getting everyone organised."

Rogers added that coaching the team has come natural to him.

"I was coaching all the time and I was coaching these guys when I first started," he said.

"It is always good to see if we can take them forward and teach them new things.

"The last few victories show that we do a few different things which is definitely positive.

"Being here at home works and fits in well with all my other coaching commitments."

Hereford captain Mark Allen believes Rogers' influence has been one of the reasons why the side fighting for promotion in Davis Wood Hockey League De Cymru and The Marches 1.

"All together it has come together with a few more people being available and young people coming through," said Allen.

"That combination means we are playing well and the team spirit is much better as a result of it."
