RALLY couple Darren and Sue Underwood have been officially presented with awards for winning the Class B10 of the REIS/MSA Asphalt Rally Championship 2014.

The Hereford Motor Club crew also picked up the AB Motorsport FWD Challenge Award for being the highest-placed front wheel drive car.

Darren was 10th overall out of 73 registered participants, while Sue was the seventh-placed co-driver, taking four wins and a second.

The couple raced in a Crystal Images Awards 1600cc Nova.

"It has been a successful season and we are chuffed to win two categories after trying for the last couple of years," said Darren.

"After winning the first two rounds, we knew we were in a good position but couldn't become complacent, and had a good class battle with KevinTappin in an 1600 BDA Escort.

The Mewla Rally saw the husband and wife team pip Tappin by one second and from that point it was impossible for them to overhauled with two events remaining.
