LUCTONIANS will be hoping to gain back-to-back wins in National 2 North this Saturday when they travel to fellow strugglers Hull.

The Mortimer Park club are on a crest of a wave following an excellent 24-10 victory against Caldy.

The win means Lucs are now level on 32 points with Birmingham & Solihull in the battle to stay up.

Hull are a place below Luctonians on 26 points and director of rugby Alex Davidson knows the significance of the game.

"Hull have brought in a couple of previous coaches back but lost to Harrogate at the weekend," said Davidson.

"I have talked about five winnable games and this is one of them.

"It is about getting the performance right on the road."

Gavin Roberts kicked over a penalty to open the scoring for Caldy before Joe Doyle crashed over for Lucs.

A further period of pressure from Luctonians saw Jordan Street to go under the posts, with Geraint Langdon converting.

The second half continued in much the same vein with Lucs capitalising on Caldy's mistakes.

Jimmy Norris crashed over to score his seventh try of the season before Langdon converted Anthony Martell's try.

Caldy were awarded a penalty try, converted by Roberts, but Lucs held on for the win.

"They made a lot of individual errors and we had a great defence, that set the tone for the day," said Davidson.
