ONE of Ledbury Town's biggest fans has seen first-hand the problems that the club have faced.
Michael 'Spike' Beale has been a member of the club for 30 years and used to drive the team to away matches in the West Midlands League.
"They have had some very good teams here, but unfortunately it seems nowadays that everybody wants money out of the club and it's gone downhill from there," he said.
"I'm afraid this is the sign of the times."
Beale was a referee in the West Midlands League and regularly officiated at New Street.
"The club was thriving then, but unfortunately players move on and it has gone downhill," he said.
"I have really enjoyed the last 10 seasons because when I was at work I used to drive for Newbury Coaches, who provided the transport for the teams to go away in the West Midlands League.
"Unfortunately due to cutbacks, and with players wanting paying, it has gone downhill.
"So now I'm just here watching as a spectator.
"I hope there find a resolution."
