HEREFORD Tae Kwon Do club have returned from the British Championships at Worcester University with a clutch of medals.

Newcomers Namking Choksawat, yellow belt heavyweight, and Gintare Stokute, yellow belt middleweight, got the day off to a flying start, achieving bronze medals in their very first competition in sparring.

Their success was quickly followed by Ebony Griffin, bronze in the blue belt cadets sparring and Katie Sanders, silver in the blue belt middleweight sparring.

Club Instructor Dave Sheppard came away with three medals, starting with a silver in the black belt men’s patterns, narrowly losing to former patterns world champion Richy Jones,

He then competed in the men’s executive lightweight division, coming out of a 16-year retirement to take gold, his 18th national title, before teaming up with two of his students, Ben Hargreaves and Scott Davies to take bronze in the tag team, losing out to the eventual winners who were three members of the Scottish national side.
