ROSS bounced back from losing against Bishopton by securing a comfortable win at Bristol Aeroplane Company that consolidates their position in second place in Gloucester 2 of the South West Division.

Penalties were the order of the day during the early stages with Bristol holding a slender 6-3 lead.

Chay Brine, Ollie Floyd and Gavin Oates were all tackled just short of the try line for Ross before Floyd did crash over.

That took Ross into the half-time break 8-6 ahead but Bristol restored parity with another penalty at the start of the second half.

Ross always looked dangerous though and began to deliver some yardage and their tempo finally paid dividends.

Prop Dave Green took a well-timed pass from Simon Gwynne to accelerate through a gap in the defence to score a great try.

Huw Bellamy added the conversion to put Ross 15-9 ahead.

Both sides then exchanged penalties before the home side hit back with a try.

But Ross stepped up a gear and sealed the win through two further tries from Brine and Matthew Redman.

Meanwhile Bromyard came from behind to secure a 26-15 win against Telford Hornets in Midlands 4 West (North).

Jamie Williams and Scott Holloway went over to take Bromyard into half-time 14-5 ahead.

Telford grabbed two tries of their own to take the lead, but Bromyard earned the win through tries from Tom Morris and Pat Hill, with Chris Rowberry kicking over the extras.

Ledbury gained an impressive 19-0 home win against Old Wheatleyans in Midlands 3 West (South).
