HEREFORD United director John Edwards says the club will have no problem complying with Company House regulations after a notice of dissolution was served on them this week.

The club have yet to file their annual return document, which was due on July 3, resulting in the notice being published in the London Gazette on Tuesday.

Any interested party now has three months from the date of the notice to object to the company being struck off the register.

The club also have the same time period to bring their records up to date.

If that is achieved, Companies House say all compulsory compliance action will stop. Speaking to the Hereford Times yesterday (Wednesday), Edwards said that the amount of shareholders that the company have has meant it has taken longer than necessary to supply the required information.

“We are not at all concerned about it and will produce our return,” said Edwards.

“It is just proving to be a long-winded exercise.”

Edwards and fellow director Elke Thuerlings have not been seen at Edgar Street for three months due to various business interests they have had around the world.

“I speak to Andy Lonsdale by Skype and I am watching from afar,” said Edwards.

“We are looking forward to re-gaining our acquaintances at the club and will be re-visiting Hereford as soon as possible.

“Andy is enjoying our full support and I speak to him every day.”

If the club is dissolved as a result of insolvency, Herefordshire Council have confirmed the Edgar Street leases will revert back to them and cease.

However, if the company is dissolved due to other circumstances, then technically, the leases would vest in the Crown and the council would ask to disclaim them.

United also face the prospect of being wound up in the High Court on December 1 and face a battle of paying off their creditors.

Around £1.5million is reportedly going to be ploughed into the club, with Lonsdale telling supporters in his programme notes on Tuesday night that “we have investment almost secured”.

However, there is still no news who the apparent investor is. Lonsdale has also said that any former employees who believe they are still owed money from the club should email him at andy@herefordunited.co.uk with evidence to back up their claims.

A number of those staff members have told the Hereford Times that they are still awaiting outstanding wages and holiday pay, as well as pay slips and P45s.

On the pitch, United have won their last four games and now sit 11th in the Evo-Stik Southern Premier League table following a resounding 4-0 win against Dorchester Town on Tuesday night. However, one player who has left the club is left-back Daniel O’Reilly.

The Irishman confirmed he has left “due to several reasons.”
