Who is your sporting hero? Jonny Wilkinson - his dedication to his sport.

Who is your sporting mentor? My coach Mark Warren.

What is your best sporting moment? Coming 7th at the World Sprint Triathlon Championships in Canada this year.

And the worst? Tearing my achilles tendon in a cross country race.

Do you have any sporting ambitions? To win a medal at either the European or World sprint triathlons in 2015.

What was the last trophy you won? At Ludlow Triathlon on September 28, 2nd female and first over 50, super veteran category - 2 trophies at one event, a bit greedy!

What is the best piece of advice you’ve been given? Get up and keep going, very apt when every muscle is hurting or when I've come off my bike.

What is the best piece of advice to give to a youngster? Have a go at at everything on offer, you never know what you might be good at - I didn't start triathloning until my fifties and now have represented my country.

Do you have an superstitions? I always take my good luck cards with me to an event.

What possession would you save if your house was burning down? Most probably my bike and running shoes so I can exercise, release endorphins so I'm not so depressed about losing my home!

Which five people would you invite around for dinner? and why? Jonny and Alistair Brownlee - we met the Brownlee brothers in Canada. They are great ambassadors for the sport of triathlon and an inspiration to us lesser mortals; Gwen Jorgenson - world champion elite triathlete perhaps she would share a few training tips? Lauren & Suzanne Turvey, my daughters who are both superb sportswomen, respectively in swimming/netball and running and the best support team I could have, from my very first triathlon to the world championships.

What hobbies do you have outside your chosen sport? Reading anything but preferably crime novels and riding my semi retired Connemara though not at the same time!
