ROSS ' fine start to the season has been hit by news that captain Matthew Redman will be out for eight weeks after breaking his wrist against Westbury-on-Severn last Saturday.

The prop fell awkwardly during the match and will be a big loss for Nick Rawlings' team.

"We've also got our hooker John Baynham out injured too," said Rawlings.

"He will be out for nine to 12 months after injuring his hand against Old Elizabethans.

"He has has wires and screws put in it and will be out on the sidelines for quite a long time."

Ross rattled in four tries against Westbury and lie second in the Gloucester Two table.

Chay Brine grabbed two of the tries, with Gavin Oates and Craig Smith also going over the line.

Huw Bellamy converted all of the tries to ensure Ross won the Greytree tie 28-14.

Ross face a tricky away trip this weekend when they face Gloucester side Spartans, who are third in the table.

Ledbury have moved up to sixth in Midlands Three West (South) following a 22-11 home win against Upton-on-Severn.

But Greyhound went down 16-10 to strugglers Tenbury in Midlands Four West (North).

The Hereford side had beaten their Worcestershire opponents in a Midlands Vase encounter last month.

But they had no answer to them this time, with Tenbury captain Will Gough grabbing all of their tries.
