LEOMINSTER Town have a five year plan to regain their West Midlands League status according to their manager Terry Williams.

Town dropped out of the West Midlands League for the start of last season and Williams believes the end goal for the team is a return to that level.

He said: “The aim is within five years to get a team back in West Midlands Division One, have a team in the Herefordshire Premier and hopefully get a good under 18’s side going.”

This season has seen Leominster combine with youth side Leominster minors and Williams believes this can only be good for the club.

“We’ve combined with the aim of keeping the youngster involved in the club.

“The trouble is they get to under 16’s, they finish and go to the likes of Westfields, Pegasus and Wellington who have good set ups.”

Williams is a new manager this season taking over from long time servant Sam Bowen and he said he relished the chance to back into football.

“I haven’t been able to play for the last three years due to injury and I miss football and I saw town we’re looking for a new manager, he said.

“I do miss playing - it’s more frustrating sat on the sideline.

Leominster are currently second from bottom in the Herefordshire Premier after finished Second last season.

Williams said: “We we’re hoping for a mid table finish and a good cup run but we knew this season was going to be a bit of a write off.”
