Former Welsh Grand National winner Monbeg Dude, trained by Michael Scudamore at Bromash near Ross, is set to make his first appearance since last seasons Grand National in Saturday's Bath Ales Handicap Chase at Chepstow.
Owned by a syndicate, which includes former England rugby captain and Zara Phillips' husband Mike Tindall, the gelding won the Welsh National at the same course and finished seventh in the Aintree renewal.
Scudamore stated to racing channel At The Races, of the one-time hesitant jumper: "He's just been doing all the same things, and if he can't jump now, I'm not sure he ever will do. He's got a lot of options, but we'll get Saturday out of the way and then see what happens” he added."
