TOP scorer Paul Jones is happy with his own form this season but believes the club has to pull together to get themselves back into form.

The Winger, who missed a penalty at the weekend against Shifnal, has scored five goals this season but does believe it’s about the team performance.

He said: “We win as a team and we lose as a team, everyone’s buzzing after the FA Vase win which is good.

“A few of my goals have been penalties but not today!”

He added that the manager Derek Williams had a few things to say to the team at half time in the cup tie when they were losing 1-0.

Jones said: “He had a few words to say, he wasn’t the only one.

“He told us to get up for the second half and we did.

“The boys knew it wasn’t good enough and in the end I think we deserved to win.

He added that a cup run can only be good for the club and that they need to take this win into the league games coming up.

“It’s just about staying together, keeping the morale high, he said.

“Everyone’s eager to moan when you lose and everyone’s buzzing when you win.

Jones has been playing for Wellington on and off for five years and has had spells at Westfields and Stourport.

He said: “Like a bad smell I always seem to come back here.”
