HEREFORD United fans are looking to bring the club's plight to a national TV audience next week.

Hundreds of Bulls fans are expected to make the short journey to Kidderminster where Harriers' Vanarama Conference clash with Welling United next Wednesday evening is being shown live on BT Sport.

"It is about trying to bring the club's plight to the attention of the national press," said Martin Watson, the vice-chairman of Hereford United Supporters Trust, who are endorsing the protest which seeks to highlight that some former members of staff remain without pay and tax documentation from their time at the club.

"The FA appear unwilling to act and the Southern League do not seem to care," added Watson.

"We have to start pushing the issue; the situation is intolerable."

Some fans have already booked mini-buses to take and anyone interested in booking on to organised transport should call Watson's office on 01432 277186.

"There has been a lot of interest," said Watson. "I'm not sure how many we might take to Kidderminster - no-one ever thought that we would take around 800 to Malvern for the fans' team game there."

Watson's fellow HUST committee member Paul Stevens was also optimistic about the numbers who might attend.

"From the numbers we are getting, there could be anything from 200 to 500," he said. "There has has been a lot of interest since HUST said that they were endorsing the protest.

"The Kidderminster Harriers Supporters Trust are very much on our side and the club's board have also been no problem."

HUST have a good opportunity to rally support on Sunday when the latest fans' team game takes place at Pegasus Juniors, with a 2pm kick-off.

The fans' team, which will include former United players Steve Guinan, Cory Williams,Tyler Weir, Scott Goodwin and Matt Gardiner, will take on a Walsall Legends team, also including ex-Bulls Andy Reece and Mark Taylor.

Meanwhile, Hereford United's football chairman Andy Lonsdale believes that the club's promised new investment is close to hand.

"We are nearly there with the new investors and there will also be new directors when the investment arrives," he said.

Lonsdale remains confident that the winding-up order at the Royal Court of Justice on October 20 will be overcome.

At the hearing, HMRC will be seeking repayment of the overdue tax bill and other petitioners, including Herefordshire Council, are seeking repayment of debts.

Hereford will be making the trip to Devon on Saturday to take on lowly Bideford Town before entertaining Corby Town, who are seventh in the table, next Tuesday.
